Elden Ring
Elden ring was my first adventure into a souls like game. Going in I didn’t have much for expectations, as most of my friends weren’t able to run the game when it first came out. I remember loading into the character selection screen and getting an excitement. The customization that Elden Ring has for characters is amazing, and goes into incredible detail. I chose the prisoner as my starting class, as I wanted to do a mage/dex build. The first area is a bit confusing for new players, and you can choose any direction to go. After the..

Dark Souls III
Dark souls III is maybe the most well known out of the dark souls series. I believe that it is the best game within the series, because it shows off all of the best mechanics from 1 and 2. It felt as if there were way better hitboxes within the game, and the quality of life changes made the game a breeze to play. The many different weapons that you could use gave the game endless possibilities and even better replay value. I can see myself returning to DS3 in the near future...

Dark Souls II
Dark Souls 2 is the game that a lot of people will have a negative perception of before playing it. Also known as the awkward middle child produced by Miazaki, the game certainly has its flaws. There are a ton of small bugs that happen throughout the game, with the largest being the insane hitboxes produced by any ground attack. Overall it was a great time, and the build that I went for was centered around hexes. I will be playing more of the souls games in the future, but this was a game worth playing. Especially if you have the SOTFS edition..

Dark Souls: Remastered
Dark Souls Remastered is a game that really stood the test of time, and is still fantastic to this day. I thoroughly enjoyed the game play aspect of things, and went into the game knowing I would go for a strength build. At first, it was a slow start and became very frustrating to play. After cracking the start of the game, it was a smooth game to play. The major complaint that I had was to do with the movement of the game. Rolling was a nightmare compared to any other souls game...

Mini Royale
If you like battle royale games this is probably right up your alley. It offers matchmaking for solos, duos, and trios, with first and third person. The unique thing this game brings is its childhood toy-like aesthetic, which brings me back to watching Toy Story with the little green men toy soldiers. It's definitely a nostalgic twist on the BR genre. While the map is missing some cover in areas it is still the strong point of this game. ''Image'' In my opinion, it doesn't bring too much else that's unique to the..

Need for Speed Heat
I haven’t played a Need for Speed game since Hot Pursuit 2 was released on PS2 in 2002. I became a Forza loyalist like many other people. So I decided to pick this game up for $5 on clearance on the Microsoft Store because why not. Although I didn’t complete the game in its entirety I was surprised how good of a game it was. This game certainly is not a simulator although the customization aspect is almost copied from Forza which is nice. It is more arcade style however the mechanics are still pretty realistic and enjoyable. I never..

Secret of Evermore
This game was amazing and underrated for its time. If you enjoyed Secret of Mana or even Chrono Trigger, this game is pretty similar to that. It's a top-down RPG, but like Chrono Trigger features a more futuristic/sci-fi setting compared to Square's mostly fantasy games. I haven't played this game since the 90s but still remember it fairly well. You play as a young boy who accidentally gets teleported with his dog to somewhere that most certainly isn't home, and it's called Evermore. It's spooky and has dark futuristic vibes. The game does..

First time trying a top-down arena shooter game like this one and I love it! It gets to a point where you can’t look away from the screen or you’ll get got! The music is so fitting for this game, the art style is amazing, so many little potato characters to play as, you get to choose different traits and items to help you survive waves of aliens! Every build is unique, you better have a couple good weapons and traits if you want to keep going. It is so much fun and I like to turn the music all the way up because it hypes me up! Definitely..

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
Another release in the CoD franchise…and an average one. Before I bought it I looked into what others were saying (even though I was going to buy it anyways) and I had to agree with a lot of what they said. I usually complete the campaign before I play multiplayer however I was told to stay away. Supposedly it turns into some weird fantasy/zombies science fiction mash up and although that could be enjoyable I think it doesn’t belong in a CoD campaign. I don’t think I’ll be completing it. As for multiplayer like always they seem to..

Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail
This has been my favorite game since I began playing in 2014. Every expansion has been amazing, raising the bar each time. With the conclusion of the main story that began in 2013, I had a feeling that Dawntrail would be a little slower, as they need to build up a new story now. This was the case. The graphic enhancements are amazing, this game looks amazing! The new classes seem cool, however, I have not tried them out yet. While the story was slow, I think I have an idea of where they are going with it, and it has the potential to be..

The Finals
I really really enjoy playing this game. The level of competition definitely makes me rage sometimes but yet I still find myself coming back to it all the time. The Finals is a free-to-play first-person shooter, taking place online only. You can earn in-game currency by completing matches which can then be used to purchase new weapons or gadgets. There are cosmetic microtransactions as well with a variety of styles. If you try the game and like it you can easily buy one battle pass for ~$10 (near the beginning of a season so you have time)..

Resident Evil
Started playing the directors cut of this game. One of my favorite series that got me into horror. The remake is really fun, but the controls in this version make it a bit of a challenge (in a good way). Any way you play this game you’ll probably have a good time. On the PlayStation emulator it has rewind and save anywhere capabilities that really help make the game easier to just pick up and play where you left off. If you like horror, puzzles, and a bit of a challenge, this is one of the best games to run through...

INSIDE
This is another amazing side-scroller adventure from Playdead, with their now trademark art style and puzzle/platformer gameplay. I mentioned in my LIMBO review that I also recommend INSIDE, which is why I'm here making sure I get it onto the record on this page as well. ''Image' 'There are many dark moments throughout the game, just like in LIMBO.'' The game offers about 5 hours of gameplay total, so not too much. That is my main gripe with the game (that it didn't have a bit more length), but it debuted at only $20. In exchange you..

Limbo
This to me was an amazing, short game. It is the first time a modern game has reunited me with the side-scrollers of yore. It is evident it had an impact on others as well, as many in the gaming industry race to release their own side-scroller story games. ''Image'' It won't take you long to complete, maybe 5-15 hours max depending on how much you like to take your time and explore. In the game you are exploring a dark, spooky, noir-like environment to find and rescue your sister who was taken. On your journey you will have to solve..

Bomberman Hero
This game was awesome. I loved Bomberman 64 that came before it, and this game polished it so much more. One thing that I really liked was that you had more than one hit point now, so you would no longer die instantly when touching an enemy. When beating worlds, you'd get an upgrade to your health. The only thing that sucked was that they removed the multiplayer option which was present in most other Bomberman titles. Split-screen multiplayer was also a popular (and kind of important) feature of the Nintendo 64. It's a typical 3d platformer..

Anthem
This game is somewhat of a tragic tale like Mass Effect Andromeda. I loved Andromeda but it was canned before any significant DLC could be developed and released, and the same thing happened here. ''Image'' Many were not happy with the state of the game, and the negative reception was just too loud for EA to justify continuing with the game. This was unfortunate, as the developer team was in the middle of a fairly big rework update at the time. ''Image'' Personally, my only complaints were that the game needed much more content,..

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor
Initial impressions of the game are that it lacks a lot of content, and it gets repetitive incredibly quickly. Basically the whole premise of the game is to avoid touching enemies and occasionally mine a few minerals by touching them. You don't use your mouse really at all in this game, and your guns all shoot automatically for you. As you clear each "level" of a cave, you return to the Drop Pod and descend a level lower to complete an objective there, and so on. The entire time, an increasingly large swarm of enemies follows..

Tails of Iron
I really enjoyed this game's art style and light RPG mechanics. I'm not usually a huge fan of side scrollers but the art style is definitely what attracted me and kept me around. I enjoyed that as you progress through the story, the hand-drawn environments changed a bit as well. I was also surprised to notice that the same voice actor who provided the voice for Geralt in the Witcher series - Doug Cockle - voiced the narration of Tails of Iron. ''Image' 'Some of the game takes place outside in the woods, while some of the game takes place..
