I first experienced this game via The Orange Box on Xbox 360, and I'm glad I did! It easily goes up there with the original Halo games as some of the best first-person shooter games of all time. It was basically my introduction to Valve as previously I had been pretty obsessed with Halo, Battlefield, Gears of War, and even the OG Call of Duty games. It takes place in a very dystopian authoritarian society, but it feels so different compared to other games with the same theme. Valve just has their own style that they excel at and I..

Really enjoyed this game a lot. It was my introduction to the soulslike genre. It's pretty tough and unforgiving sometimes, which from my understanding is a good representation of the genre. I love the kind of "flat" art style and faceless characters, and it was what drew me to this game. Funny how in the endless chase for photorealism, more "basic" games like these catch my eye more and more. ''Image' 'Pretty awesome looking in my opinion!'' My main complaints are that it was way too short (but it was $40 at..

I haven't beaten this yet but I'm quite far into it, and I already know this game is just perfect. It gives me pretty much the same feeling I had when I played Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time way back when. I got to play it for "free" as it was included with my Game Pass subscription, but I will probably end up buying it eventually anyway because it's so awesome. ''Image' 'Some super bold colors in this game. The environments look so pleasing.'' You play as a nameless fox hero. The Zelda-esque vibes are..

I remember jumping into this expansion well before I probably should've, but that's the beauty of Bethesda games! You can generally do whatever you want. Fallout 3 was my first foray into the famous series, and this expansion was within my first 10 hours or so of playtime. I ended up getting winterized T-51b power armor and a gauss rifle from this expansion which gave me a pretty substantial buff early on. If you want a bit more of a challenge in your playthrough, you may want to wait until later on to do this expansion. It was..

Well, we finally got it. Another BF game. I was personally hyped for this game considering I haven’t played a BF game in about ten years. I won’t say I was let down, but it wasn’t totally was I was hoping for. I say that unbiasedly as someone who is a fan of CoD. I started with completing the campaign which was overall pretty solid. It had a decent storyline and each chapter was entertaining. The environments were graphically stunning as well in certain areas. Then came multiplayer. It took some getting used to. I thought most of..

We've all been waiting years for a new modern combat Battlefield game, and here it is, complete with a single player campaign and all (but no co-op missions 😔). While not perfect, there's plenty to love and the launch has been much smoother than previous titles. It also looks like with Season 1 releasing tomorrow there's quite a bit more on the way including a new free-to-play mode called Battlefield: RedSec. Overall I am pleased with how the game runs. The beta was already pretty solid despite hundreds of thousands of..

If I had to quickly answer "what's your favorite PSP game?" I'd probably have to go with WipEout PurE just based on time spent playing alone! I had every livery in the game unlocked and heard every song in the soundtrack at least a few dozen times each. It's a futuristic racing game similar to F-Zero or Redout, with even a little Mario Kart mixed in. While racing on the track, you can steer just right to go over boost pads or powerup pads that give you things like a shield or missiles. As you progress through the..

Coming from a lifetime of mostly console gaming, Counter-Strike 2 has been a big culture shock for me. I'm not exactly new to PC gaming, but the difference in time spent between PC and console is still noteworthy. The closest thing I've played to CS2 before would have to be 'Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield'. I should note that while I was aware of Counter-Strike, Counter-Strike 1.6, and Counter-Strike: Source as a kid, I never really played them because I was too busy being obsessed with Halo, Gears of War, and Battlefield. I'm..

I really like the OG Gears of War series, but I also went into this with realistic expectations thinking this was basically a slightly upgraded Gears of War Ultimate Edition which I've already played the hell out of. While unfortunately I was correct in my presumptions, some fun was still had. As a series player I'm not sure if that's just rose tinted glasses or not. It is worth mentioning that as an owner of Ultimate Edition, I got Reloaded for free from Microsoft. The inclusion of PlayStation players feels both awesome and..

Elden ring was my first adventure into a souls like game. Going in I didn’t have much for expectations, as most of my friends weren’t able to run the game when it first came out. I remember loading into the character selection screen and getting an excitement. The customization that Elden Ring has for characters is amazing, and goes into incredible detail. I chose the prisoner as my starting class, as I wanted to do a mage/dex build. The first area is a bit confusing for new players, and you can choose any direction to go. After the..

Dark souls III is maybe the most well known out of the dark souls series. I believe that it is the best game within the series, because it shows off all of the best mechanics from 1 and 2. It felt as if there were way better hitboxes within the game, and the quality of life changes made the game a breeze to play. The many different weapons that you could use gave the game endless possibilities and even better replay value. I can see myself returning to DS3 in the near future...

Dark Souls 2 is the game that a lot of people will have a negative perception of before playing it. Also known as the awkward middle child produced by Miazaki, the game certainly has its flaws. There are a ton of small bugs that happen throughout the game, with the largest being the insane hitboxes produced by any ground attack. Overall it was a great time, and the build that I went for was centered around hexes. I will be playing more of the souls games in the future, but this was a game worth playing. Especially if you have the SOTFS edition..

Dark Souls Remastered is a game that really stood the test of time, and is still fantastic to this day. I thoroughly enjoyed the game play aspect of things, and went into the game knowing I would go for a strength build. At first, it was a slow start and became very frustrating to play. After cracking the start of the game, it was a smooth game to play. The major complaint that I had was to do with the movement of the game. Rolling was a nightmare compared to any other souls game...

If you like battle royale games this is probably right up your alley. It offers matchmaking for solos, duos, and trios, with first and third person. The unique thing this game brings is its childhood toy-like aesthetic, which brings me back to watching Toy Story with the little green men toy soldiers. It's definitely a nostalgic twist on the BR genre. While the map is missing some cover in areas it is still the strong point of this game. ''Image'' In my opinion, it doesn't bring too much else that's unique to the..

I haven’t played a Need for Speed game since Hot Pursuit 2 was released on PS2 in 2002. I became a Forza loyalist like many other people. So I decided to pick this game up for $5 on clearance on the Microsoft Store because why not. Although I didn’t complete the game in its entirety I was surprised how good of a game it was. This game certainly is not a simulator although the customization aspect is almost copied from Forza which is nice. It is more arcade style however the mechanics are still pretty realistic and enjoyable. I never..

This game was amazing and underrated for its time. If you enjoyed Secret of Mana or even Chrono Trigger, this game is pretty similar to that. It's a top-down RPG, but like Chrono Trigger features a more futuristic/sci-fi setting compared to Square's mostly fantasy games. I haven't played this game since the 90s but still remember it fairly well. You play as a young boy who accidentally gets teleported with his dog to somewhere that most certainly isn't home, and it's called Evermore. It's spooky and has dark futuristic vibes. The game does..

First time trying a top-down arena shooter game like this one and I love it! It gets to a point where you can’t look away from the screen or you’ll get got! The music is so fitting for this game, the art style is amazing, so many little potato characters to play as, you get to choose different traits and items to help you survive waves of aliens! Every build is unique, you better have a couple good weapons and traits if you want to keep going. It is so much fun and I like to turn the music all the way up because it hypes me up! Definitely..

Another release in the CoD franchise…and an average one. Before I bought it I looked into what others were saying (even though I was going to buy it anyways) and I had to agree with a lot of what they said. I usually complete the campaign before I play multiplayer however I was told to stay away. Supposedly it turns into some weird fantasy/zombies science fiction mash up and although that could be enjoyable I think it doesn’t belong in a CoD campaign. I don’t think I’ll be completing it. As for multiplayer like always they seem to..
